About
Nestled near the charming seaside town of Plomari on the southern coast of Lesvos, Michal Yoga offers a serene retreat for visitors seeking balance and mindfulness amid the island's natural splendor. The surrounding landscape of olive groves, rolling hills, and the shimmering Aegean provides an ideal backdrop for yoga practice, where the gentle rhythms of island life naturally complement the meditative qualities of the discipline.
Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a curious beginner, a session here is an opportunity to slow down and connect with both body and place. The southern Lesvos setting, with its famously clear light and warm climate for much of the year, makes outdoor or open-air practice a genuine possibility, allowing the sights and sounds of the Greek countryside to become part of the experience itself.
For travelers passing through Plomari — already well known as the home of Ouzo production and its picturesque harbor — adding a yoga session to the itinerary offers a thoughtful counterpoint to sightseeing and culinary exploration. Michal Yoga represents the growing wellness tourism scene taking root across Lesvos, where the island's unhurried pace and extraordinary natural environment create conditions that feel almost purpose-built for reflection and renewal.
Before you go
What to expect
Sessions at Michal Yoga place you in the natural setting of southern Lesvos, with olive groves and the Aegean framing the practice rather than a studio wall. The atmosphere is calm and personal — both complete beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome in the same session. Plomari's harbor and its famous ouzo distilleries are close by, so a class slots naturally into a leisurely day in this part of the island.
Best time to visit
May through October suits most visitors; late spring and early autumn offer the gentlest light and cooler air, with July and August better for early-morning sessions before the heat of the day.
How to get there
From Mytilene, drive south toward Plomari — the journey takes roughly 40 minutes along the coast. Plomari is a compact town, easy to navigate on foot once you arrive.

Michal is a truly unique yoga teacher. I have been practicing yoga for several years and had the privilege of meeting different teachers. She is without a doubt one of the most exceptional. Every class with her goes far beyond the physical practice. It is a true lesson for life. She brings full presence, deep listening, and genuine compassion. With her guidance, the practice becomes an inner journey that allows real and meaningful transformation. What makes Michal so special is that she truly lives what she teaches. She embodies yoga in daily life with calmness, depth, and love. Every encounter with her feels like a pause in time. A chance to breathe differently, to see differently, and to create space for change in life. From my personal experience in Plomari, Lesvos, practicing with Michal was a gift and a life-changing experience. She lives in Plomari and deeply understands Greek culture. You can feel it in every class and in every word. It is a rare and beautiful blend of yoga with authentic local spirit. Getting to know Michal, and the friendship that grew from it, is a true gift I feel deeply grateful for. It is something I wish to share and pass on to others.

These Yoga sessions make my week! Michal is the best Yoga's teacher i have ever had. And i had quite a few throughout the years. The classes are much more than just a Yoga practice. Each class is like the first time, with all the light that Michal is bringing with her. Do not miss her private Sound Healing sessions as well!

Michal is a yoga instructor in Plomari, and we are truly fortunate to have someone of her level here. I’ve taken many yoga classes in New York, and I can honestly say I wish I could find an instructor there who compares. She is charismatic, her guidance is crystal clear, and she carries herself with such calm discretion. Her classes take place in a restored timber soap factory right in the heart of the village. The space is open and airy, with windows that frame the hills on one side and cross-ventilation that brings in the scent and movement of the trees on the other. It feels both grounding and uplifting—an ideal setting for practice. Each class ends with a beautiful sound healing session that feels deeply restorative. I always leave feeling lighter and renewed. Her classes are an experience not to be missed if you visit Plomari. Beyond her teaching, Michal is a wonderful person. What I love most about her is her smile—deep, genuine, and full of warmth.

Michal is not only a wonderful yoga instructor but also a true healer for both body and soul. She lives and breathes yoga, and every class or workshop with her feels safe, pleasant, and deeply uplifting. Beyond the practice itself, she is a true teacher of life, guiding with wisdom and kindness. I wholeheartedly recommend joining any class or retreat she leads.
