The doctor was really concerned with my wife's eye and throat infection. The process was so fast. Thanks a lot again 🙏
The treatment was good, but they could be a bit better organized and friendlier. Everything seems a bit slow.
About
Plomari Health Center serves as the primary medical facility for the southern coast of Lesvos, providing essential healthcare services to the residents of Plomari and the surrounding villages of the Evdelos valley. Situated in this charming ouzo-producing town, the center offers general practitioner consultations, emergency care, and basic diagnostic services, making it an important point of reference for travelers exploring this part of the island who may need medical attention far from the larger facilities in Mytilini.
For visitors spending extended time along Lesvos's southern shore, knowing the location of the Plomari Health Center provides genuine peace of mind. The area around Plomari draws visitors with its pebbly beaches, its famous ouzo distilleries, and the scenic mountain villages of the interior, and the health center ensures that medical support is accessible without the lengthy drive back to the island's capital. Staff typically speak enough English to assist foreign visitors, and the center can coordinate referrals to the main Mytilini hospital for anything requiring more specialized care.
While no traveler plans a visit to a health clinic, the presence of a functioning medical center in Plomari reflects the town's role as a genuine regional hub rather than merely a tourist destination. It is a practical anchor for the community and a reassuring resource for anyone exploring the olive groves, thermal springs, and coastal paths of Lesvos's beautiful southern reaches.
Before you go
What to expect
The Plomari Health Center is a modest but properly functioning regional clinic — not a hospital, but a genuine first port of call for consultations, emergencies, and basic diagnostics. Staff are accustomed to foreign visitors and manage well enough in English to address most medical needs. For anyone spending several days along the southern shore, it is worth knowing where it sits in town before you need it.
Best time to visit
Open year-round; expect longer waits in July and August when visitor numbers across southern Lesvos peak.
How to get there
Plomari is roughly a 35–45 minute drive from Mytilene along the southern coastal road. The health center is within the town itself — ask locally once you reach Plomari's center.

Went at about 1700hrs and was seen within 10 minutes by a doctor. He took temperature, blood pressure, covid test, bloods and x-ray. All results within 15 minutes. All free and walked out with a prescription. This would have taken weeks in the UK. 5 stars for the staff and Plomari Health Centre. The building looks a little tired, but the treatment can't be faulted.

Don't get sick at Plomaride. We had to go at night and the hospital was very quiet, but the doctors are supposedly worse than Turkish doctors. The only positive thing was that we went to the emergency room and they gave our friend, who had fainted, a serum free of charge and made him feel better. They had trouble finding the vein to administer the serum, though... Also, getting there is difficult. You need to go by car. The road from the city center to the hospital is quite deserted...

They are tired of moving I had an appointment at 12:45 and I still hadn't gotten in at 2:30. There was a lack of communication everywhere, as they themselves admitted. They take 30 minutes to write out medications. As for their rapid, it gave me a headache. What else can I say, far away and not very dear🏃♀️🏃♀️
