Saint Foteini

Saint Foteini is a Greek Orthodox church on the island of Lesvos dedicated to one of the most beloved female saints in the Orthodox tradition. Saint Foteini, whose name means "the luminous one," is venerated as the Samaritan woman who encountered Christ at Jacob's Well, as recounted in the Gospel of John. Honored with the title Equal-to-the-Apostles and Great Martyr, she is celebrated for her role in spreading the Christian faith and her steadfast courage in the face of persecution.
