Visitors say
True traditional hotel. Great location on the harbour. Great service and really friendly staff and their local customers help it to feel authentic by playing Greek Music. Good atmosphere around the harbour.
Rooms are clean and basic, amazing view over harbour and beyond. Restaurant serves good home cooked food. Best meal I had during our visit was the moussaka.
About
Nestled in the enchanting village of Molyvos on Lesvos's northern coast, the Sea Horse Hotel offers guests a welcoming base from which to explore one of the Aegean's most celebrated destinations. Molyvos is a UNESCO-recognized traditional settlement, its cobblestone lanes tumbling down from a medieval Byzantine castle toward a charming stone harbor, and staying here means waking up to this living postcard each morning. The hotel's position places visitors within easy reach of the village's waterfront tavernas, boutique shops, and the crystal-clear waters of the surrounding coastline.
As a hotel in this characterful setting, Sea Horse provides the comforts and amenities travelers need after days spent hiking the surrounding hills, swimming at nearby pebble beaches, or wandering through the labyrinthine streets of the old village. The warm hospitality that defines Greek island accommodation is a hallmark of properties in Molyvos, where a personal, family-run ethos tends to prevail. Whether guests are drawn to Lesvos for its natural beauty, its rich history, or its celebrated olive oil and ouzo culture, the Sea Horse Hotel serves as a comfortable and conveniently located retreat at the heart of one of the island's most beloved villages.
Before you go
What to expect
Stepping out of Sea Horse Hotel, you are immediately in the middle of Molyvos — the Byzantine castle looming above, cobblestone lanes winding downhill toward the stone harbour, and the smell of the sea everywhere. Mornings have a natural rhythm here: coffee at a waterfront table, then the day unfolds toward a pebble beach, a hike above the village, or an aimless wander through the old lanes.
Best time to visit
Late May through early October is ideal; July and August bring the liveliest atmosphere but also midday heat and the most visitors.
How to get there
Molyvos is roughly an hour's drive from Mytilene along the north coast road, covering about 60 kilometres; most visitors rent a car or take a taxi from the port.

Fantastic views a gem of a place the staff are fantastic and so friendly great food in the evening breakfast is a continental one but there is a great choice and served to you by the harbour it is very popular with locals who pop in for a drink and there is always something to see at the harbour. We have booked to return for next year and cannot wait.

A wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting right by the harbour. Stella and Dimitri own and run the hotel and they and all the staff make you very welcome and feel at home. The food is excellent and service even better. Rooms are clean with lovely views over the harbour. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

We had an evening meal here, food was mediocre, but the service was shocking after the meal itself. We had to ask for the bill twice, and it still came incredibly late. Left a sour taste. I would go to the captain's table instead.

Great hotel!😁 Stayed with my daughter of 5 in the hotel for a week, enjoying every minute of it. Great and sweet personel (very childfriendly), the food was also great and fresh and the apartment we stayed on the backside with nice balcony was also verry good.

We had been in Lesvos for the first time and started our journey from Molyvos Sea Horse Hotel which was wonderful experience, excellent location, large rooms, balcony with sea view, very clean, breakfast satisfied and price-performance ratio is excellent.. The restaurant of the hotel is also quite satisfied with sea food. The owners of the hotel Stella and Dimitris is showing their hospitality and make you feel at home. Thank you again for all.

We have had a fabulous time at the seahorse and will definitely return. The owners are so friendly and have absolutely made our holiday. The rooms are clean and the balcony we had offered an outstanding view of the harbour and sea. The room was cleaned everyday. There is a restaurant downstairs and the food is lovely, we ate there about 3 times. Thank to Stella and Demetri for their hospitality x
