Courtesy and prompt service for anything we wanted! We have stayed at the accommodation at least 4 times in 8 years and we are completely happy! It is in a central location of the village and everything is literally 2 minutes away on foot!

It was fine, the rooms didn't have anything, they were clean, in a good place near Mytilene, Panagiouda has a harbor with shops to sit and eat or drink coffee, it's a good choice!!!

About

Studios Aella offers self-catering accommodation in the quiet coastal setting of Panagiouda, a small village nestled on the eastern shore of Lesvos just a short drive south of Mytilini, the island's capital. The name Aella, drawn from ancient Greek meaning a swift whirlwind or storm wind, evokes the fresh Aegean breezes that sweep across this stretch of coastline, cooling the terraces and carrying the scent of pine and salt air that defines the eastern Lesvos experience. Guests staying here enjoy easy access to both the tranquility of village life and the amenities of Mytilini, making it a practical and comfortable base from which to explore the island.

The studios format, a staple of Greek island hospitality, gives visitors the freedom to set their own pace — preparing a simple breakfast with local produce picked up from nearby markets, or returning after a long day of sightseeing to a private space that feels like a home away from home. Panagiouda itself is a relaxed, unhurried community where the rhythms of daily Greek life play out along the waterfront, and the surrounding landscape offers walks through olive groves and views across the Gulf of Gera toward the island's forested interior. For travelers who want to experience Lesvos beyond the well-trodden tourist trail, Studios Aella provides an authentic and well-positioned retreat in the island's quieter eastern reaches.

Before you go

What to expect

The studios greet you with sea-cooled air rolling in off the Gulf of Gera, and mornings here tend to start slowly — coffee on the terrace, pine-scented breeze, the village going about its day at the waterfront below. Having your own kitchenette means you can pick up bread and olives from a nearby shop and eat on your own schedule rather than hunting for a table. It is a genuinely quiet base, with Mytilini close enough to use for errands or a night out without the noise of a tourist strip.

Best time to visit

Late spring through early autumn is the sweet spot; the Aegean breeze that inspired the studio's name takes the edge off the July and August heat.

How to get there

Panagiouda sits about 4.8 km south of Mytilini along the eastern coast road — roughly ten minutes by car from the port or airport.

Unacceptable room on the ground floor. They should have been cleaned a long time ago. We had booked (fortunately without a deposit) and we left in a hurry because there were ants everywhere!!!! Instead of apologizing, they asked us for the change!!!!!

It's run by a slightly elderly gentleman. We went around 8 pm and he wasn't there. We called the number on the sign, but it was switched off. There's a small market next door. We asked the market staff, and thankfully, they managed to reach him by calling another number, and he arrived within 5 minutes. Once he arrived, he immediately gave us the room. The room, sheets, and towels were all spotlessly clean and smelled wonderful. Everywhere we went, every hotel, every place was truly clean and smelled great. I think everyone on the island uses the same detergent :). The rooms have kettles, ovens, stoves, and all the necessary kitchenware. There's a market right next to the hotel. It's a 2-minute walk to the beach, which also has restaurants and cafes.

When you come to Lesvos for a trip, you might prefer Aella Studios in Panaguiada, a town 5 km away from the center. You won't regret it thanks to its excellent location and spotlessly clean rooms. You can easily get to and from the center by public bus; it takes about 10 minutes. The owners are very friendly and attentive. The room has all the necessary equipment, from a washing machine to an oven. There are bakeries, markets, cafes, and restaurants nearby, all of them lovely. Thank you, Aella Studios! ❤

Good place to stay, was working in camp moria, perfect place than ,close to the camp, lots of room to stay with 3 ppl in one studio. Good wifi, a really nice owner, furthermore there is a washing machine, you can dry your clothes outside, there is a cafee, restaurant and a bakery nearby so you got all you need. 1 thing that could be better is the protection on the wifi tough, its a default password on the modem, so anyone with bad intentions can get in the modem and has an easier job stealing your data.
