The room was clean, the balcony view facing the sea was wonderful. The building is on the hill, near a very calm shopping street that leads to the castle. Our host was very friendly and helped us with our needs and questions.

About

Charming hotel on Castle Street with spectacular layered views of historic stone houses, mountains, and surrounding island. Immaculately clean rooms with tasteful decoration overlooking the Mediterranean landscape. Prime location in historic Molyvos.

Before you go

What to expect

Staying on Castle Street means waking up to a cascade of Ottoman-era stone houses tumbling down toward the sea, with the medieval kastro looming above and mountains framing the view. The rooms are quiet and tastefully put together — more like a well-kept home than a hotel — and the central position lets you step directly into Molyvos's cobbled lanes. It's the kind of place where you end up lingering on the balcony longer than planned.

Best time to visit

Late May through early October is ideal; July and August are lively but warm, so early morning walks reward you before the heat builds.

How to get there

Molyvos is roughly an hour's drive north from Mytilene along the main inland road. Once in the village, follow signs uphill toward the kastro — Castle Street runs through the upper historic quarter.

This hotel I stayed at in Molyvos had a view that felt like a stage. You could see the unique charm of Molyvos with its stone houses along with the backdrop of the mountains and the rest of the island. It was a very layered and impressive view, and I really loved it. The place was spotless, hygienic, very tidy and beautifully organized by Giorgos. Everything felt fresh and newly renovated, including the rooms. The garden was also very lovely, filled with flowers and full of character. On top of that, the location was perfect, right in the center of Molyvos town, with everything within walking distance. It was easy, convenient and truly great value for money. A boutique hotel with an excellent price-performance balance!

We stayed here years ago. Very pleasant, very quiet and peaceful. The manager was very nice and pleasant at all times. We had a front facing room with an ocean view over the tops of other beautiful stone buildings. Rooms were small, neat, tidy, they put 2 twins together for us to have a king-sized bed. We had a balcony & our own private bathroom. I'd like to stay there again. It is a guesthouse (not a regular hotel) where you can keep food in a community refrigerator and cook in a community kitchen, but we didn't do either. We ate out, walking to & from all the restaurants. We also took a taxi and went to the Eftalu Hotsprings a few times and stopped at an ocean view restaurant on the way there for pastitsio. We visited the castle up the hill. The city is so extremely charming, every building built of stone and stone paved streets, really enchanting.

Yorgos is an excellent host. The place is very cosy, one of the nearest places to the molyvos center. The rooms were very quiet and clean. Looking forward to stay there again.

On Lesvos Island to the North is Mithymna(also known as Molivo). On the top of the hill is a castle. Warm hospitality, close to Agora( shopping ) and clean popular rooms to rent. There are good eating places with plenty of shops for buying anything. A long road goes all the way from the bottom to the top. The rooms are off this very picturesque road!

I truly believe this is the best place to stay in Molyvos. You're right in amongst the cobbled streets, the tavernas, the market places and close to the castle. George is a wonderful host, always ready with a smile to help out or just to chat (in my case letting me practice my very average Greek) and makes this place much more personal than any hotel. I loved it and highly recommend it.

Placed in the center of a small picturesque market. Has a common dining room where you can prepare your meals, or go out to dine. Room is not big but has all I need. The shower could be improved with a curtain. The view is from the common balcony as i have a room woth a garden view. Very nice and helpful landlord. Very good choice.
