Παναγιά — meaning "All-Holy" — is the most beloved dedication in the Greek Orthodox tradition, and churches bearing this name are among the most cherished places of worship across Lesvos. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the Theotokos, this church stands as a focal point of faith for the surrounding community in the central-western part of the island.
