About

Triena Rooms is a vacation rental accommodation situated in Molyvos, one of Lesvos's most celebrated medieval villages, perched dramatically above the Aegean Sea on the island's northern coast. Guests staying here enjoy immediate access to Molyvos's distinctive cobblestone lanes, its imposing Byzantine-era castle, and the warm hospitality of a village that has enchanted travelers for generations.

As a self-contained rental option, Triena Rooms offers visitors the kind of independence and local immersion that a traditional hotel cannot easily replicate. Staying in Molyvos means waking to views of terracotta rooftops cascading toward the harbor, with fishing boats bobbing below and the Turkish coastline shimmering on the horizon. The village's excellent tavernas, artisan shops, and pebbly beach are all within easy reach on foot.

For travelers who want to explore Lesvos at their own pace — day trips to the petrified forest, the thermal baths at Eftalou just minutes away, or the flamingo wetlands of the Gulf of Kalloni — Triena Rooms provides a comfortable and characterful base in one of the island's most rewarding destinations.

Before you go

What to expect

Staying in Molyvos means settling into a living medieval village rather than simply visiting one — stone houses stack up the hillside toward the castle, and the harbour is a short walk downhill. You can pick up provisions at the local shops, eat at a waterfront taverna in the evening, and reach the pebble beach or the thermal spring at Eftalou within minutes. The pace is slow by design, and the silhouette of the castle above the rooftops is a constant companion.

Best time to visit

Late May through early October is the sweet spot; July and August bring more visitors and high heat, so June or September offer a quieter stay with reliable warmth.

How to get there

Molyvos is about an hour's drive from Mytilene, heading northwest along the coast; the road winds through olive groves and hill villages before the castle comes into view above the rooftops.

For a fast meal this was good, the wine was vergeten nice....the food was less tasteful than expected, but perhaps our standards are to high. The service is good the view on the water was great. Not bad overall for a Quick meal, loved the bread with cheese topping and tzadziki.

It's a lovely place with tasty food and perfect sunset view. We had many meals in Triena Restaurant and recommend 'Triena Omelette' for breakfast and sea food for dinner, the plate 'Fish for 2' was amazing. We tasted their pizza as well, it was delicious. Service was perfect.

It was ok. Mussels were fresh and I can recommend it. Sad that it was not served hot, I didn’t make a problem back then, but it should not be acceptable in the restaurant and I heard from nearby tables that other customers had the same issue. Did not astonished me but was a fresh seaside food.

We ordered, greek salad, garlic bread, zaziki, shrimp saganaki, fried calamari. Food was all good, but we tasted better shrimp and calamaris in different spots on the island. The owner is a very friendly, and service was excellent. We also enjoyed the great view of the restaurant a lot. You can give them a try.

Tables outside are right by the sea side and shadow of the palms. The beach is right below the edge of restaurant. Beautiful and quite place. For children ordered spaghetti bolognese, very big and tasty plate. Pizza margherita surprise, really good. They add other cheese to mozzarella thought. We've also ordered a Greek platter to split by two. Unfortunately not enough for two people, disappointed by this, therefore we've ordered more starters. Overall ok, food is good, price is average.
