It's a truly fantastic place considering the price-performance ratio. Downstairs there's a large kitchen, living room and a spacious balcony with sea views, and upstairs there are bedrooms and two bathrooms. We really weren't expecting a place like this 😁

It's close to the sea and has a beautiful beach, especially in the early mornings. The house has everything you need; it was a very peaceful, clean, and quiet holiday. Thank you.

About

Fotis Apartments & House Lesvos offers self-catering accommodation in the quiet coastal settlement of Skala Neon Kydonion, tucked along the northern shores of Lesvos where the Aegean stretches toward the Turkish coast. This stretch of the island is known for its unhurried pace, traditional fishing harbor atmosphere, and the kind of authentic Greek village life that draws travelers seeking something beyond the resort crowds. Staying here places you within easy reach of the scenic coastline as well as the broader landscape of olive groves and hillside villages that define this part of Lesvos.

The apartments and house format suits families, couples, and small groups who prefer the independence of their own space — a kitchen to prepare fresh produce from local markets, a terrace to enjoy morning coffee as the harbor comes to life, and the flexibility to come and go on their own schedule. The surrounding area rewards those who like to explore at their own pace, with opportunities to swim in clear northern Aegean waters, visit nearby villages steeped in local history, and day-trip to landmarks across the island including the capital Mytilene or the petrified forest of the western peninsula.

For visitors who want to experience Lesvos as a lived-in island rather than a polished tourist destination, a base like Fotis Apartments provides the right balance of comfort and simplicity. The northern coast has its own quieter rhythm, and settling into a home-style rental here is one of the more rewarding ways to absorb it — waking to sea light, lingering over meals, and discovering the unhurried pleasures that have made Lesvos a cherished destination for those who return year after year.

Before you go

What to expect

Settling in here means mornings with coffee on a terrace overlooking a small fishing harbor, afternoon swims in clear northern Aegean water, and evenings spent cooking with produce picked up at the local market. The pace is genuinely slow — fishing boats still go out before dawn and the only soundtrack at night is the water. It suits travelers who want a home rhythm rather than a hotel routine.

Best time to visit

Late May through September is ideal for swimming and outdoor living; the northern coast stays noticeably calmer than busier resort areas even at peak August.

How to get there

Skala Neon Kydonion sits on the east coast, roughly a 25-35 minute drive from Mytilene following the coastal road north; the route through olive groves is straightforward and scenic.

For a quiet, peaceful holiday with crystal-clear sea, I definitely recommend this place. Also, the owner, Fotis, is an incredibly friendly and helpful host. Everything is wonderful, from the cleanliness to the ambiance. It's a small fishing village, a 1-minute walk from the sea, and 20-25 minutes by car to everywhere (historical sites, the city center, etc.). The food is delicious, the appetizers are fantastic. If it were up to me, I would holiday here every year without needing to look anywhere else. But my wife and children want to see different places...

The mosquito nets need to be changed. There are 3-5 mosquitoes inside before going to bed. If you go to bed without paying attention, you're guaranteed to itch a lot for a few days. Since we went as two families, we had the chance to see both apartments. In one, there was no dish sponge and detergent, and in the other, the pots and pans were scratched to the point of being unusable. If you are thinking of cooking something, the pots and pans section is limited, but there were plates and glasses. There is a cezve (Turkish coffee pot) and two cups for Turkish coffee 👌🏼 The sheets and towels were clean. There is no air conditioning in the bedroom, but we opened the window a little and the air wasn't too stuffy. There is a very nice business 4-5 km away from the house. The thing we liked most was staying close to a business. Even though we went to the north and south of the island for a day trip, we didn't linger there as the most beautiful bay was close to home and we returned. For families with children, a sandy and clean bay that doesn't get deep quickly will be nearby. Also, the food and drinks are good. Umbrella and sun lounger use is free on all beaches. Overall, we had a great holiday 👌🏼

The host was very helpful and friendly. However, they only stayed one night and then went to Athens. We wish they had stayed a little longer. If you contact the host, they give you a code; there are small key boxes on the wall at the entrance of the house, you enter the code there, and you can take the key from the box and use it. The refrigerator is large (but it doesn't have an ice maker). The mosquito nets in the rooms are a bit worn, it would be good to replace them as mosquitoes can get in. Despite being on the ground floor, we didn't encounter any insects. This is our 3rd night, and we will stay for 3 more nights. The kitchen has a kettle and a toaster. There is a 2-burner electric stove. There is no oven. Since food prices are affordable on the island, eating out is more advantageous. We only had breakfast at home. There is no market very close by. Lidl and 2 other supermarkets are very close to each other and are 20 minutes from the house. We recommend stopping by one of these markets on your way home from the ferry. There is a Turkish coffee pot in the kitchen (you can buy and make Turkish or Greek coffee). There is a hairdryer. No washing machine (it would be nice to have one) This is a very quiet village in the evenings. If you like entertainment, it's good to have a car. There's a beautiful sea within walking distance of the house, but there are no facilities. You can sit with your folding chair or sun lounger. There are many trees by the sea, so you can manage even without an umbrella. There are 2 restaurants near the beach. However, they are not close enough to serve the beach. They call the restaurants here tavernas, which is not the same as the taverna concept in Türkiye (meaning Nejat Alp and Cengiz Kurtoğlu don't perform there), and most of them don't even play music 😄

You never sleep alone Fungis in the wall . Al sort of insect Sheep pooping everywhere Narcistische owner scalding at me when he is responsible and watching constantly on the cctv and no working airconditioning the furniture is so cheap if you weigh 90 kg you are to heavy for the wood so people came by constantly to fix things So then no tv problems with WiFi and so much more stupid experiences
