RAMA
Visitors say
Timos is the best, friendliest fun man at any taverna. The food is always extremely well presented and always tasty. We enjoy the beach here to in front of Rama and would be nowhere else ❤️
A great meal in a lovely location on the beach. Great service from the staff. Will definitely come back again.
About
Tucked into the vibrant village of Petra on Lesvos's northwestern coast, RAMA is one of those local spots that rewards the curious traveler willing to explore beyond the waterfront. Petra itself is a place of genuine character — a working community where fishing boats still pull into the harbor each morning and the towering monolithic rock crowned with a whitewashed chapel defines every view. Against this backdrop, RAMA offers visitors a chance to settle in, slow down, and experience the rhythm of daily life in one of Lesvos's most beloved villages.
Whether you find yourself here for a coffee in the late morning or something stronger as the afternoon light turns golden over the Aegean, RAMA carries the unhurried warmth that defines the best of Greek hospitality. The surrounding streets of Petra are easy to wander, lined with stone houses draped in bougainvillea and small squares where locals gather at all hours, and RAMA fits naturally into this unhurried world. It is the kind of place where conversations stretch longer than planned and the outside world feels comfortably far away.
For visitors making their way along Lesvos's northern coast — perhaps en route to the petrified forest or the salt pans of Kalloni — Petra makes an ideal pause, and RAMA provides exactly the kind of grounding, authentic stop that turns a day of sightseeing into something more memorable. This corner of the island moves at its own pace, and RAMA is a fine place to let it wash over you.
Before you go
What to expect
The whitewashed chapel atop Petra's iconic rock is part of the everyday backdrop here, not a dramatic lookout but a quiet constant you notice between sips. The crowd is genuinely local — fishermen, shopkeepers, grandmothers — and visitors who settle in tend to feel less like tourists and more like regulars by the time they leave.
Best time to visit
May through October suits a visit well; June and September strike the better balance of warmth and calm before and after the peak summer influx.
How to get there
From Mytilene, take the main road northwest through Kalloni and continue toward the coast — the drive takes roughly 50 to 60 minutes; RAMA is in Petra's village center, a short walk from the seafront.

We were really looking forward to spending time at this beach restaurant in Petra, but the experience started on the wrong note. The staff, particularly the lady who greeted us, was more focused on enforcing the €10 charge for the sunbeds per person than actually welcoming us. She didn’t mention that the fee could also be considered a minimum consumption, which we only found out later. The interaction felt transactional and dismissive, which was disappointing. We chose to leave and found a much friendlier atmosphere at a nearby spot.

The pizza is really perfect like my mother did. The restaurant has really beautiful sightseeing. The people are really nice and friendly. After dinner they offer us delicious icecream for free. Everything was great. This place is already my favorite place for lesvos. I prefer this place blindfolded:) you should definitely try here. Greek pizza is my favorite btw:) and additionally homemade wine is really perfect.

Very friendly people. Quality certainly ok. We ate the Pizza Rama and City. Both tasted really good. Very happy with our choice. Sea view.

Delicious unique pizzas and friendly staff. We tried two “small” pizzas that were both excellent. We are every bite! Would highly recommend eating here for pizzas if in the area.
