I've been there several times and all the guys are excellent and helpful, I don't think the reviews about bad behavior refer to this particular Shell store.

About

Tucked along the road near the quiet village of Kedro in the heart of Lesvos, Shell Ermis 472 serves as a reliable waypoint for travellers exploring the island's lesser-visited interior. As a Shell-branded fuel station, it provides the essential services road-trippers depend on: petrol, diesel, and the kind of straightforward convenience that keeps a journey moving when you are far from the larger towns of Mytilini or Kalloni.

What makes stops like Ermis 472 quietly valuable is their role as local crossroads. Fuel stations in rural Lesvos often double as informal information points, where a brief exchange with staff can yield an honest tip about a nearby beach, a family taverna off the main road, or the fastest route through the olive groves. The surrounding landscape of Kedro is gentle and agricultural, with ancient olive trees stretching across the hillsides — a reminder that this island has been producing some of the world's finest olive oil for thousands of years.

For visitors on a self-drive tour through the island's central and northern reaches, Ermis 472 is the kind of practical anchor that lets you venture confidently off the beaten track. Fill up here before heading toward the volcanic landscapes of the north or the traditional villages of the Lesvos interior, knowing you have a dependable stop behind you.

Before you go

What to expect

This staffed Shell station sits at the edge of Kedro's olive-grove countryside, making it a natural pause on any self-drive route east of Mytilene. The staff are often locals with practical knowledge — a quick conversation at the pump can turn up tips about nearby tracks, small tavernas, or shortcuts through the groves that no map shows. Don't expect amenities beyond the basics, but that simplicity is part of what makes a stop here feel genuinely local.

Best time to visit

Open year-round; fill up in the morning before summer drives inland, as village stations can close midday in the heat.

How to get there

The station is just a few kilometres east of Mytilene along the road that leads to Kedro — less than ten minutes from the centre of town and a sensible first stop before heading north or deeper into the island's interior.

You put gas in and get tired of draining the hose, half the gas fell into the engine tank.

UNACCEPTABLE throughout Europe that LPG costs a maximum of 70 cents and in Lesvos at Shell stations it even costs 1.10 and many times more. This profiteering is not only unthinkable and unacceptable, it is also subject to legal action.

If I could give 0 stars I would. In the first incident, on the day of the offers, I told the employee to give me plain and she gave me 98 without asking me. When I realized this, I got out of my car and asked her why she gave me 98 while I gave her plain. She told me that today is a day of offers and that it interests me and is good for my car (a long discussion followed, asking her the reason why she made fun of me to my face). Second incident, I ask the employee where the gas station is and he shows me without clear instructions at the bottom of the gas station, where I went, when I stopped and realized that it was in another place, he started shouting at me, saying "You didn't hear what I told you, where are you going down there, I told you at number 9" and other such mundane things. Better put a padlock on it!

Unacceptable... The employee is rude and insists on giving you the gas he wants in order to charge you more. I asked for 20 euros of gas and he gave me 50 with the words "I want it that way"... He also insists on selling you products such as windshield wiper fluid without you wanting it. I will not go there again. I gave them many opportunities and they always had the same tragic behavior. Zero professionalism and rudeness in all its glory.
