About
Perched in the rolling hills above the medieval castle town of Molivos, Molivos Hills Apartments offers self-catering accommodation in one of northern Lesvos's most scenic corners. The property sits within easy reach of Vafeios, a quiet traditional village set among olive groves and pine-covered slopes, placing guests at the intersection of authentic island life and the dramatic coastal landscape that has made this part of Lesvos a favourite with discerning travellers. From this elevated vantage point, the views stretch across terracotta rooftops, the shimmering Aegean, and on clear days toward the distant outline of the Turkish coast.
Staying in an apartment rather than a hotel brings a particular freedom that suits the rhythms of Lesvos well. Guests can stock up on local olive oil, fresh produce, and the island's distinctive ouzo from nearby markets and then settle into the unhurried pace of village life between excursions. The iconic cobblestoned streets and Ottoman-era stone houses of Molivos are just a short drive away, as are the pebble coves and thermal springs that dot this corner of the island. For travellers who want a base that feels genuinely embedded in the landscape rather than merely adjacent to it, Molivos Hills Apartments provides exactly that kind of grounded, memorable stay.
Before you go
What to expect
Morning light from the terrace brings the Aegean into view alongside the pine-covered slopes that roll down toward the coast — it is the kind of scene that slows breakfast to a pleasant crawl. As a self-catering base, the rhythm here is yours to set: a village market run, a drive to a pebble cove, an afternoon in the Ottoman quarter of Molivos, then back to a quiet hilltop evening. The surrounding area around Vafeios is genuinely peaceful, with little traffic and a strong sense of being off the tourist circuit.
Best time to visit
Late May through September for warmth and swimming; June and early October offer the most comfortable temperatures with noticeably thinner crowds.
How to get there
From Mytilene, take the main northbound road toward Molivos — expect a drive of roughly one to one-and-a-half hours. Vafeios sits just inland from the coast near Molivos, a short detour from the main road.

Our family (two kids, ages 8 & 5) spent the past 18 days at this wonderful place. Giorgos has created a beautiful place with lush greenery, a lovely pool, and apartments that offer everything you need. Every few days, the apartment is thoroughly cleaned, and towels and bed linens are changed. It's also great that all rooms have air conditioning. Our kids had a wonderful time in the pool and the garden. The resident cats quickly became friends. A car is essential, as it's a perfect base for fun day trips. All the basic necessities, such as a bakery, butcher, and supermarkets, are just a few minutes away. The evenings are wonderful to spend in Molyvos, also just a few minutes' drive away. We highly recommend Molyvos Hills!

Excellent accommodation ... which is fully equipped .... kettle - toaster - toaster - full household appliances ... regular-sized refrigerator, washing machine and dishwasher .... it really had much more than I would use on my vacation even though I was traveling with twins. The wifi fully covered professional needs. The owner is kind and fully cooperative!! The ground floor apartments have their own gazebo with lots of coolness. Swimming pool with mini playground next to it The room price could easily be 20-30% higher Very close to Molyvos without the hustle and bustle of the center. I have traveled a lot and this is one of the best value for money rentals I have stayed in. I would comfortably stay again and I highly recommend it ...

Lovely house in a small apartment complex near Molyvos. The house was spacious and meticulously clean, the kitchen fully equipped, it even had a dishwasher (didn't use it) and a washing machine which is super helpful if you travel light as we do! Air-conditioning was a central unit which cooled the place down without drying the air- best sleep I've had in days in the heatwave of July. Peaceful garden with a nice table in the shade for breakfast and chatter in rhw night. Also swimming pool with sunbeds and a small playground which the kids loved! George, the owner, was super helpful with everything we asked. All together, a lovely place, definitely will be visiting again!
