Aspropotamos

Aspropotamos is a quiet coastal hamlet in the western reaches of Lesvos, its name — meaning "White River" in Greek — hinting at the pale-stoned stream that once gave the settlement its identity. Sitting just six metres above sea level, the village occupies a gentle lowland landscape where the land softens toward the sea, a contrast to the rugged volcanic hills that define much of the island's interior.
