A little attention should be paid to the issue of blackout. Otherwise, excellent accommodation, very well equipped and most importantly... excellent location... at least for those who want the view over the harbor.
About
Mitilene Harbour Central offers self-catering holiday apartments in one of Lesvos's most coveted positions: the heart of Mytilini, the island's vibrant capital and main port. Staying here places guests within easy reach of the working harbour, where ferries arrive from Athens and the nearby Turkish coast, and where the rhythms of island life play out daily among fishing boats, waterfront cafés, and the bustle of the morning market.
The central location means guests can walk to Mytilini's main attractions — the imposing Byzantine and Genoese castle that crowns the hill above town, the neoclassical mansions lining the seafront promenade, the Archaeological and Theophilos museums, and the lively Ermou Street shopping district. Having your own apartment gives the freedom to cook with fresh ingredients from the local market, keep flexible hours, and settle into the city as a temporary resident rather than a passing tourist.
For visitors who want to explore beyond Mytilini, the harbour area serves as a natural base: rental cars are readily available nearby, and the road network connects quickly to Molyvos in the north, the petrified forest in the west, and the thermal baths of Thermi just a short drive away. Mitilene Harbour Central suits travellers who want comfort and independence without sacrificing proximity to the soul of Lesvos.
Before you go
What to expect
Mornings here begin with the sounds of the working harbour — ferry engines, the clatter of the fish market, and the espresso machines of the waterfront cafés. Having your own apartment means you can shop at the morning market and cook with whatever the fishermen brought in that day. The Byzantine castle on the hill and the neoclassical seafront promenade are a short stroll away, so evenings unfold at your own pace.
Best time to visit
May through October suits most stays; July and August are lively but hot, while late spring and September offer cooler air and noticeably fewer crowds.
How to get there
The property sits in central Mytilini itself, so if you arrive by ferry from Athens or the Turkish coast, you are practically at the door. From Mytilini airport a short taxi or bus ride brings you into town.

The accommodation is in an excellent location, which saves the situation: It is located on the top floor of a cafe, as a result of which cigarette or cooking smoke passes and enters the room under the door which is a simple internal wooden apartment door with zero security. The entrance door to the accommodation is the back door of the cafe which is usually blocked halfway by bars that block access. The interior is spacious but beyond the sweeping and mopping of the floor all the furniture with fabrics, cushions etc. smell of dust. Around the perimeter of the walls the plaster has fallen off from the humidity and some places have mold. The cushions are high and if you don't have a neck pillow you will get one. The price was reasonable and the hostess was kind.
