About
Nestled near the quiet village of Alyfada in the heart of Lesvos, Kojam is a local business that reflects the unhurried, authentic character of this part of the island. Alyfada sits amid the rolling olive groves and pine-scented hills of central Lesvos, far from the bustle of the main tourist circuits, and businesses in this area tend to carry the warm, personal quality that comes from serving a close-knit community rather than crowds of passing visitors.
Stopping at Kojam offers travelers a chance to experience Lesvos as the locals know it. Whether you are passing through on the way to one of the island's lesser-visited villages or exploring the inland landscape that stretches between the coast and the pine forests of the central massif, this kind of neighborhood establishment provides a genuine connection to everyday life on the island. The surrounding area rewards slow travel, with traditional stone architecture, ancient olive trees some of which are centuries old, and the kind of tranquil atmosphere that has drawn visitors to the Aegean for generations.
For those touring Lesvos beyond its well-known beaches and the famous petrified forest, the villages and hamlets of the interior offer a more intimate portrait of island culture. Kojam and the community around Alyfada embody this quieter side of Lesvos, making it a worthwhile detour for any traveler who values discovery over the well-worn tourist trail.
Before you go
What to expect
Kojam sits in the heart of Mytilini, the island's busy capital, just a short walk from the waterfront and the everyday pulse of the city. As a neighbourhood business serving the local community, it gives visitors a glimpse of the lived-in, working side of the town rather than its tourist-facing facade. The streets around it mix neoclassical architecture, corner kafeneions, and the unhurried rhythm of Aegean island life.
Best time to visit
Accessible year-round; spring and autumn bring the most comfortable temperatures for exploring Mytilini on foot.
How to get there
Kojam is in Mytilini itself, roughly 200 metres from the town centre — an easy walk from the harbour, the main square, or most hotels and guesthouses in the city.

Been there a bunch of times. Got aperol spritz which basically was aperol with water. Both prosecco and soda water had lost carbonation. When I was asked and told this, the waitress told me with a flat face that she is gonna scold the bartender.... On top of that, I asked whether the Aperol is good and she told me that whatever is done following is recipe is standard. Well, turns out it is not. Especially if you don't know the most basic skill in a bar how to keep carbonation inside a bottle, or how (if it is gone) to save the recipe using at least a new soda :)

This bar definitely has an authentic vibe and is a must visit chill spot in Lesvos. I want to emphasize that their jazz music selection is amazing, making me feel like I'm back in New Orleans. I loved their floral moscato wine and I was lucky enough to be the first to drink from a new barrel of Mamos beer. During the day, you get to chill under lush greenery covering above the outdoor seating. Perfect for mid-day tipsiness. At night, it draws a decent crowd that I assume appreciates good music and chill vibes. The lighting and overall decor is pretty, intimate, and romantic. Thank you and see you again!

This a the coolest, most laid back coffee place in Mytilene. Sitting under the blooming trees in the corner of a pedestrian street, you can have the best coffee or drink and enjoy the lifestyle of Mytilene. The staff are also the coolest and kindest of people and ensure the best service and experience.

Cocktails we ordered were OK but the waitress was annoying. When I asked her if you had an extra chair, she replied to me “i dont know ask around”. Wow. Thank you.
