Great book shop and I was so excited to find a place in Mytilene that has quality literary fiction in English, which came in handy when my holiday books ran out. Also lots of interesting toys, stationary and electronics.
they were extremely helpful with the whole process, explained everything very clearly and considering we are tourists, they were very kind. thanks <3
About
Public Mytilinis is the Lesvos outpost of Public, one of Greece's most recognized retail chains for electronics, technology, and entertainment. Located in Mytilene, the island's bustling capital, the store serves as a one-stop destination for travelers and locals alike who need to pick up gadgets, accessories, laptops, smartphones, cameras, or home electronics during their stay. Whether you have forgotten a charging cable, need a memory card for your camera before heading out to the beaches and villages, or are simply curious to browse, Public offers the kind of reliable, well-stocked retail experience more commonly associated with mainland cities.
Beyond the practical value for island visitors, the store reflects how Mytilene functions as the commercial and administrative heart of Lesvos. Unlike many Greek island capitals that remain primarily tourist-facing, Mytilene is a working city with a university, a lively port, and everyday infrastructure that supports a year-round population. Public fits naturally into that urban fabric, sitting alongside cafes, bookshops, and clothing stores in a neighborhood where islanders do their day-to-day errands. For travelers who find themselves in need of tech supplies mid-trip, knowing a well-stocked electronics retailer is available removes one logistical worry from what is otherwise a wonderfully relaxed island experience.
Before you go
What to expect
Stepping into Public feels like stumbling on a mainland Greek city shopping district — well-organized shelves stocked with smartphones, laptops, cameras, cables, and accessories. It sits in a neighborhood where locals run everyday errands alongside cafés and clothing stores, giving the area an unhurried, non-tourist energy. Useful mid-trip when you realize you've left a charger behind or need a memory card before heading out to the beaches.
Best time to visit
Open year-round; Mytilene is a working city with no seasonal gaps, so any time of year suits.
How to get there
The store is in central Mytilene itself — if you arrive by ferry at the port, it's a short walk into the city center.

The employees were really helpful, they do speak English, if you want to buy electronic goods, this place is where to go in Mytilini, they do sell xbox and playstations if you are curious.

I needed 3 things 1. A display port cord 2. A USB Bluetooth dongle 3. A PCI network card (or a USB) None of which they had in stock I think it's unacceptable for such a big store

Very small. But has all the basic stuff. Once I made an order and after almost a month's wait the book never came. I was notified that my order was cancelled. Meanwhile I was on holiday a few days and got the same book from the same store in ATHENS. The employees though are really friendly and helpful.
