Qupi Ceramics
Visitors say
Time is lost in this beautiful and warm space making ceramics, with Dora as a teacher who loves what she does so much. Suddenly you too love the clay, the materials, the creation and the art of ceramics! Well done!
A wonderful space that seems to have been created with a lot of love.. we took a pottery class with Dora who seemed to love what she does and passed it on to us...
About
Tucked away near the quiet village of Alyfada in the olive-clad hills of northern Lesvos, Qupi Ceramics is a small artisan studio where the ancient craft of pottery finds a contemporary home. The workshop draws on Greece's long ceramic tradition, translating it into handcrafted pieces that carry the textures, colours, and spirit of the Aegean landscape. Visitors who make the detour into this corner of the island are rewarded with an intimate, unhurried experience far removed from the tourist bustle of larger centres.
The studio offers visitors a chance to browse and purchase original ceramic works — bowls, vessels, decorative pieces, and functional ware shaped and fired by hand. The aesthetic tends toward the earthy and artisanal, reflecting the natural palette of Lesvos itself: the warm ochres of the hillsides, the deep blues of the surrounding sea, the soft greys of olive bark. Whether you are looking for a meaningful keepsake or simply curious to see the craft up close, Qupi Ceramics offers something genuinely local and made with care.
Stopping here is as much about the setting and the slower pace as it is about the objects themselves. Alyfada sits in a part of Lesvos that rewards those willing to explore beyond the well-trodden paths, and Qupi Ceramics fits naturally into that spirit of discovery. A piece brought home from here carries with it the memory of a particular hillside, a quiet afternoon, and the enduring human impulse to shape clay into something beautiful.

Qupi Ceramics is located in Mytilini itself, just a short walk from the waterfront — easily reached on foot from anywhere in the town centre.
