The lock on my car broke. I found him online, contacted him, went and he fixed it right away. He was helpful and willing.
Our car battery was dead, we had a hard time starting it by charging it in the city, but when we arrived at the service center they calmed us down, everyone was incredibly helpful, I definitely recommend them.
About
Tucked in the quiet countryside near the village of Alyfada in central Lesvos, Synergeio Avtokiniton Levterakos Stavros is a local auto repair workshop serving the rural communities of the island's interior. For travelers exploring the less-visited villages and olive groves of this part of Lesvos, knowing where a reliable mechanic operates can make all the difference on a road trip across the island's often winding and remote roads.
Run under the Levterakos name, this workshop offers the kind of hands-on, personalized service that is characteristic of family-run businesses throughout the Greek islands. Whether you need a quick tyre check, a mechanical inspection, or unexpected roadside assistance arranged, local garages like this one are an invaluable resource for visitors who have hired a car and ventured off the main routes connecting Mytilini to Molyvos or Sigri.
Alyfada and its surrounds see far fewer tourists than the island's coastal resorts, and the businesses here operate primarily for the local community. Stopping in — even just to ask for directions or advice — offers a genuine glimpse into everyday island life, the kind of unhurried, neighborly interaction that Lesvos is quietly known for among those who take the time to explore beyond the obvious highlights.
Before you go
What to expect
A no-frills family workshop where the Levterakos name stands for straightforward, unhurried repairs for drivers across the eastern side of the island. The atmosphere is quiet and practical — you deal directly with the mechanic rather than a front desk. For road-trippers who've hired a car to explore Lesvos's inland roads, it's useful to know a trusted garage sits practically on the edge of Mytilene.
Best time to visit
Open year-round; call ahead in July and August when rental-car work tends to keep local mechanics busiest.
How to get there
Alyfada is only a few minutes' drive from central Mytilene on the eastern side of the city — one of the closest workshops you'll find to the island's main port.

They were once stars, honest and correct. But the work picked up and the mistakes started. Now they have turned into like everyone else, unprofessional.

I took my car for a typical service. The man is the definition of a professional. Calm, explanatory, honest in his fee and very attentive. It happened for a trivial reason that I considered worrying to go again after a few days. He served me immediately without any fee. I would highly recommend him and he definitely made me a customer with his behavior. I should note that I am not a resident of the island and I had my reservations

I don't like to shout but I have to protect and reward the right professionals. The interior mirror in my car came off and I went to two body shops. The employee's conversation at the first one was: Go to so-and-so, he has glue and he can fix it. I went to so-and-so, I don't have glue but I don't do jobs like that. My despair was infinite since I had to hold a hanging interior mirror so that the roof wouldn't come off. I told both body shops, please remove it from the cable so that it doesn't hang and tear off any roofs. And the answer from the first one was I don't fix mirrors (in a shop that only deals with windshields) and in the second shop the answer was take the dealership. I went to Mr. Stavros and I said to Nikos, I think that's what they call the kid, please help me, I'm burning myself. Please take the mirror off so it doesn't hang and cause more damage. The kid sat down, took it off and told me if you can't figure it out, come and help you. And I told him what you want for your trouble and he said nothing. I went and got some glue and went back to the garage to Nikos and my kid fixed it with kindness and a smile. He didn't accept any money for the trouble or for a treat. It's good that there are still such kids and such professionals left on the island. Thank God there is a Stavros Lefterakos and a Nikos. May God always keep them well and everything right. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.
