Visitors say
A quiet and calm grove. If you look for a non-crowded place to rest nearly port of Lesvos you can choose here.
Great place for the (mountain)bicycle and a good place to escape and reload your batteries.
About
Tsamakia Park is a beloved green retreat on the northeastern edge of Mytilini, where the urban fabric of the island's capital gives way to pine-shaded paths and sweeping views across the Aegean toward the Turkish coastline. The park stretches along a gentle promontory, offering visitors a rare combination of natural beauty and easy accessibility from the city centre, making it a favourite destination for both locals seeking an afternoon escape and travellers looking to experience the quieter, more contemplative side of Lesvos.
The grounds are well maintained and invite a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, where benches face the open sea and the light shifts beautifully through the trees in the late afternoon. The adjacent Tsamakia Beach, a small sandy cove at the park's edge, draws swimmers during the warmer months, while the surrounding area is dotted with cafes and spots to sit and watch the fishing boats drift by. The views toward the Karaburun Peninsula on the Turkish coast are among the most striking from any easily reached point near the capital.
For visitors arriving in or departing from Mytilini, Tsamakia Park offers a perfect first or last impression of the island's natural character. It speaks to something essential about life on Lesvos — the easy integration of sea, land, and daily life — and rewards those who take the time to slow down and simply absorb the setting. Whether you come for a morning coffee, a swim, or a sunset walk, the park delivers an authentic taste of the island's unhurried, Mediterranean rhythm.
Before you go
What to expect
The pines filter the afternoon light across a gentle promontory, and the benches along the seafront point directly toward the Karaburun Peninsula on the Turkish coast — a view you rarely get so effortlessly close to a capital town. Most visitors split their time between sitting with a coffee and drifting down to the small sandy cove at the park's edge for a swim. It has the unhurried feeling of a place locals actually use, not one kept tidy for tourists.
Best time to visit
May through October for swimming at the cove; spring and autumn bring the most comfortable walking temperatures and noticeably smaller crowds than July and August.
How to get there
Tsamakia Park sits on the northeastern edge of Mytilini and is an easy 10–15 minute walk from the city centre along the seafront — no car needed.

A relaxing, casual place. You have mini bar with lot kinds of drinks and some food that I wouldn't recommend because it is usually overpriced and not really up to expectations. You have showers, changing rooms and really nice garden to sit and enjoy your order. Beach is really rocky and not really pleasant as entrance in the water as well. Classic city beach, nothing special about it. Why I give 4 stars is because of really nice price for sunbeds and parasol for only 1 EURO.
