Best time to visit
Late May through September is the swim season; July and August are warmest but bring more visitors to the beach.
How to get there
From Mytilene, head northwest through Kalloni — the drive takes roughly an hour. Anaxos is just south of Petra, so follow signs for Petra and look for the turn-off down toward the shore.

I wouldn't recommend this place if you want to be treated as a room number however if you want great service that makes you feel special this is the place. Lakis is a natural host who will go out of his way to help and does so with a smile. The beach with the usual offering of restaurants is within easy reach as are the restaurants in the other direction on the main road, food in all is very good and a very reasonable price. There are also small food and souvenir shops with the closest selling fantastic local flavoured honey and fridge magnets that were made from her own photos. Jet2 informed me that mobility scooters are not allowed on the premises however as soon as I mentioned this to Lakis he arranged for the delivery of one at a very good price and ensured it was charged for me. I visited as a solo traveller and felt welcomed and safe everywhere I went. This is one place I would definitely visit again as this was a truly relaxing week.

We enjoyed our stay for 8 days. The owner is friendly and also acts as the cook. It is located on a narrow street where the bus picking you up from the airport cannot reach. You are dropped off at the beginning of the street and then have to walk a short distance with your suitcase(s) to the hotel (not a disaster). It is close to the beach and the lively "boulevard," accessible via a narrow winding road that takes you past shops, houses, and hotels/apartments.

Great place to stay and relax, owner is really wholsome and has great attitude. Whenever there was any problem or something needed to be done, we just heard "No prooblem, don't worry about it" and it was done almost right away. I recommend to anyone willing to spend holidays in clean, calm and charmy place.
