Charming pottery workshop in Molyvos run by Sotiris and Vaso, featuring handcrafted ceramics with beautiful hand-painted details depicting local scenes. The working studio welcomes visitors to observe artisans creating functional and decorative pieces.
Before you go
What to expect
Stepping inside, you'll likely find Sotiris or Vaso at the wheel or bench, shaping clay while finished pieces dry on nearby shelves. The work is painted with Aegean motifs — octopuses, olive branches, sea scenes — the kind you'll actually want to use at home rather than leave in a box. You can watch the whole process and pick something directly from the studio.
Best time to visit
May through October, when the studio is fully active and Molyvos is in full tourist swing.
How to get there
From Mytilene, drive northwest via Kalloni toward Molyvos — a scenic route of roughly 50 to 60 minutes. The workshop is in the village itself, easy to reach on foot once you've parked.

I found the place quite randomly but was surprised by the painting details on the ceramics. Sotiris definitely has a unique talent - you'll find many scenes depicting Molivos, all in great detail! When I visited the workshop, Sotiris' wife, Vaso, was there. She gave me a tour of their workshop, talked about their work and was very friendly. Even suggested other ceramists I should visit on the island (as I'm an amateur ceramist myself).
